FIRST CONTACT // TRANSMISSION ONLINE

You’ve reached Orbital Drift.
A place between systems.
A place where survival means movement,
and movement means learning the rules of space the hard way.

Orbital Drift is an independent sci-fi survival

Game blends realistic orbital mechanics with physics-based gameplay and first-person space exploration. Set in a harsh and unforgiving universe, the game challenges players to survive in deep space where every maneuver matters and every mistake has consequences.

There is no fast travel, no artificial shortcuts – only gravity, limited resources, and constant decision-making under pressure. Orbital Drift focuses on immersion, tension, and the raw reality of space survival.

Experience a grounded, realistic space exploration game where physics is not a feature – it is the core of survival.

The Origin of Orbital Drift

Orbital Drift was born from a genuine passion for science and space observation. From the very beginning, our goal was not simply to visually simulate spaceflight, but to truly understand how objects move in orbit.

The project started with Newton’s laws of motion and Kepler’s equations. With ellipses. With orbital parameters. With mathematics.

At first, it was not a game. It was a physics simulation.

Only after we began visualizing the calculations did we realize something unexpected – watching objects move according to real orbital mechanics was deeply satisfying. There was beauty in the precision. Meaning in the motion.

Then came a simple question:

What if we tried to travel from one orbit to another?

That moment naturally introduced gameplay. The scientific experiment began to evolve – smoothly and almost inevitably – into a game.

Work in progress

This is early Pre-Alpha gameplay from Orbital Drift, an indie hard sci-fi survival and exploration game focused on realistic orbital mechanics and physics-based movement.
